Is Internet Network Marketing Recruiting Easy?

“Am I required to know and sponsor a lot of people in an MLM program to be successful?” is a commonly asked question.

A answer from many upline sponsors frequently is something similar to the following…

“No, you can develop a significant residual income and become very successful in MLM by sponsoring just one person every month or two.

They will go on to tell you that the people you sponsor do not have to be from your “warm market,” (that is, your friends, relatives, and people you already know).  They say, just think of all the people you run into every day in your normal activities!

Try this: sit down with a pen and a sheet of paper and write down the names of EVERYONE you know, have known, have done business with, etc.  You will be amazed by how many people you come up with.

But the question is, will all these people really join your Multi Level Marketing business if you ask them to?  Most probably not.  However, statistics show that if only one out of every one hundred contacts you make joins your program under you, it will be enough to make your car payment, another one will make your house payment, and one more will retire you!

So, three out of every one hundred isn’t too bad!  Also, realize that the people on your list also know other people, and will quite often refer you to other people that may be interested in joining you in your endeavor!”

Now 97 rejections might not seem like a lot to your sponsor, but I’m sure that it seems like a lot to you!  I know that it sure felt like a lot to me!

How many people do you know who can go out and face 100 people they know and get rejected by 97 of them and just continue to keep plugging along trying to recruit or sell products to an unwilling market?

Technically, the response above from the sponsor can be true if you are fortunate enough to sponsor someone that has all the required skills and goes on to become a “heavy hitter” in the company.  And depending upon your company’s compensation plan, that person might be able to carry you along.

If you do take this approach, the odds of you landing a “heavy hitter” who will rapidly develop a large downline beneith you is highly unlikely if you are only sponsoring “one person every month or two.”

So what should you do if you don’t want to face massive rejection and you are not going to be lucky enough to recruit a “heavy hitter” early on in your Network Marketing career?

The solution is not to go out chasing after people attempting to get them to buy your products or enroll in your company.  That will surely get you membership in the NFL (No Friends Left) club.  Instead, get the ones that are really interested to come to you.  And then, sponsor them into your company with a soft sell approach instead of the more tradition hard sell.

“So, how do I do that?”, you ask.

You achieve this by first offering your target market a funded proposal or free report relevant to your market and developing a mailing or contact list from the funded proposal sales process.  You then develop a positive relationship with your list members through frequent contact and by providing them useful information.

If you have correctly identified your market, prospects will soon be contacting you for guidance and asking how they can become a member of your team.
